Dr. Michelle Moccia, DNP, ANP-BC, GS-C
Dr. Michelle Moccia has dedicated over four decades to learning and improving the care of older adults and their caregivers. She is a board-certified Adult Nurse Practitioner (2008) graduate of Madonna University. She also completed the Doctor of Nursing Practice (2015) and became certified as a Gerontologist Specialist (GS-C) in 2018. She is active in many professional organizations, Past President of GAPNA (2017-2018), the largest advanced nurse practitioner association, current Chair of the Geriatric Committee for the Emergency Association and serves as the Chapter Leadership Chair of the 18 GAPNA Chapters across the United States. She spearheaded the development of St. Mary Mercy Hospital (Trinity Livonia) first geriatric emergency department (Senior ER) in the State of Michigan in 2010 and helped guide care to achieve ACEP Level 1 GED accreditation - the first in Michigan and the first in Trinity.
Dr. Moccia also serves her community. She has been appointed to Livonia Michigan's Commission on aging. She also joined the IHI and TJAH "Moving Forward Nursing Home Quality Coalition" initiative to improve resident's quality of life. She is married, mother to three beautiful spiritual daughters and recently a proud "Mimi" to their first grandchild; a sweet baby girl they affectionately call "baby Cece". She is a continuous learner, loves reading and writing, enjoys family time, the outdoors, hiking, playing tennis and pickle ball.
